About the layout

Buckleigh is a classic Great Western branch line station, set in the 1950s and 1960s.

It is based on Cadleigh, on the beautiful Exe Valley line from Exeter to Tiverton, which sadly closed in 1963. In the layout's story, the station was renamed Buckleigh in 1906.

As at the real station, a single line has a passing loop at the platform, with a goods loop behind the up platform. An engine shed and a bay platform, which the real station never had, give more to do.
